Chrome Profile Setup
Chrome Profiles for Multiple LinkedIn Accounts
If you're managing multiple LinkedIn accounts with Valley, you need a separate Chrome profile for each account.
Why Chrome Profiles Matter
Valley connects to LinkedIn through a Chrome extension that reads your LinkedIn session token. When you click "Connect LinkedIn" in Valley, it grabs whichever LinkedIn account is currently logged in on that Chrome profile.
If you try to connect multiple LinkedIn accounts from the same Chrome profile, Valley will connect whichever one happens to be logged in at that moment. This leads to connecting the wrong account, sending campaigns from the wrong person, or your name bleeding into a client's outreach.
CRITICAL:
Once a LinkedIn account is connected to a Valley seat, you cannot change it. If you connect the wrong account, you have to create a new seat. One Chrome profile per LinkedIn account keeps this clean and foolproof.
Creating a Chrome Profile
Takes less than two minutes:
Click your profile picture in the top right corner of Chrome
Select "Create profile" or "Add another person"
Enter a profile name (see naming tips below)
Choose a profile icon if you want
Click "Create" or "Add"
Chrome opens the new profile automatically
Log into the correct LinkedIn account in this new profile
Naming Tips
Make it obvious which profile is which:
By person: "John LinkedIn", "Sarah LinkedIn"
By company: "Company A - John", "Company B - Sarah"
By account type: "Personal", "Agency Account 1", "Agency Account 2"
Connecting LinkedIn to Valley
Once you have the right Chrome profile open with the right LinkedIn logged in:
Connecting Your Own Account
Make sure you're logged into your LinkedIn in this browser
Go to app.joinvalley.co
Click "Connect LinkedIn" in the top right of your dashboard
Valley will prompt you to download the Chrome extension - download it
Once downloaded, find the extension by clicking the puzzle piece icon in your Chrome toolbar
Click on the Valley extension
Click "Connect LinkedIn"
Wait a few minutes for it to complete
You may need to refresh the screen to see the connection confirmed
Connecting Someone Else's Account
Step 1: Create their Valley seat first. Go to the workspace you want to add them to, then Settings > Manage Seats > Invite, and enter their email.
Step 2: Open a new Chrome profile and log into their LinkedIn account on that profile.
Step 3: Log into Valley at app.joinvalley.co on that same Chrome profile.
Step 4: Go to Admin Mode and scroll to the bottom of your dashboard. Find their name and click the arrow all the way to the right - this logs you into their Valley seat.
Step 5: From their seat, download the Chrome extension, click Connect LinkedIn, wait a few minutes, and refresh.
โน๏ธย Note:
Whatever LinkedIn account is logged in at the moment you click Connect is the account that gets permanently linked to that Valley seat. Always double-check before connecting.
Switching Between Profiles
Click your profile picture in the top right corner of Chrome
Select the profile you want to switch to
Chrome opens that profile in a new window
Pro Tip:
Keep each profile's window open in a different location on your screen. This makes it easy to see which profile you're in at a glance.
Critical Rules
CRITICAL:
Do NOT connect multiple LinkedIn accounts from the same Chrome profile. Valley will connect whichever is logged in, and you cannot change it afterward.
CRITICAL:
Do NOT run multiple automation tools alongside Valley. Valley uses a session token approach through the Chrome extension - this is why there have been zero LinkedIn suspensions since October 2023. Running other bots, auto-connect tools, or SDR platforms can cause account flags or campaign conflicts.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Mistake 1: Connecting From the Wrong Chrome Profile
You click Connect LinkedIn while the wrong LinkedIn account is logged in. Now that seat is permanently linked to the wrong person.
Warning:
Fix: Create a new seat and connect from the correct Chrome profile. The old seat with the wrong account attached cannot be reassigned.
Mistake 2: Running Other Automation Tools
Running HeyReach, Dripify, Expandi, or any other LinkedIn automation alongside Valley causes conflicts - message delays, duplicate sends, or LinkedIn flags.
Warning:
Fix: Use Valley only. Remove any other bots or automation tools from your LinkedIn accounts before connecting to Valley.
Mistake 3: Not Using Admin Mode for Client Accounts
If you create campaigns without entering Admin Mode first, your profile info can bleed into the client's outreach messages.
Warning:
Fix: Always click into the specific account via Admin Mode before creating their campaigns.
