Tags & Prospect Controls
Overview
Valley gives you controls to manage how outreach flows to individual prospects. Auto-categorization sorts incoming replies by intent. Status tags let you flag prospects for specific actions like stopping outreach or handing off to a human.
Auto-Categorization
Valley reads every incoming reply and automatically categorizes it into one of three buckets:
Interested
Prospect showed enthusiasm, asked a question, or wants to learn more. Valley surfaces these first and drafts follow-up responses for you to review.
Might Be Interested
Prospect is neutral, asks questions, or doesn't say no but hasn't committed either. Worth following up on - Valley drafts responses for these too.
Not Interested
Prospect explicitly declined, said they're not a fit, or requested to stop receiving messages.
Auto-categorization happens instantly when a reply comes in. You can override Valley's categorization if you disagree with how it labeled a reply.
Prospect Status Tags
Valley has three built-in status tags you can apply to any prospect from the inbox:
Stop Outreach
Completely halts all automated messages to this prospect. No follow-ups will send, no re-engagement sequences will trigger, no scheduled messages will go out.
Use Stop Outreach when:
Prospect asked to stop receiving messages
Prospect is already your customer
Prospect definitively said no and you want to respect that
You want to remove them from all automation permanently
In the inbox, Stop Outreach is the red button with the trash can icon. You can also use this to decline pending approvals for a prospect.
Human Handover
Flags a prospect for manual follow-up AND stops automated sequences. The prospect is removed from automation and flagged in your system as needing personal attention.
Use Human Handover when:
Prospect is a major account that deserves a personal touch
Deal is moving into discovery or demo phase where automation no longer fits
Conversation requires nuance, customization, or negotiation that AI can't handle
Meeting Scheduled
Marks that a meeting has been booked with this prospect. Use this to track which conversations have converted to meetings.
Stop Outreach vs. Human Handover
Both stop automation. The difference:
Stop Outreach - Prospect is done. You're cutting off contact. No flag for follow-up.
Human Handover - Prospect is valuable. You're taking over personally. Flagged for your attention.
Think of it this way: Stop Outreach is for "no." Human Handover is for "yes, but this needs me personally."
