Why is the AI still including calendar links or emojis?
If the AI continues to include prohibited items like calendar links, emojis, or other content you've added to your DON'T list, the issue is usually how the rule is formatted. Valley's AI parses DON'T rules most effectively when they're simple nouns or phrases, not full sentences.
How to Format DON'T Rules
Instead of writing instructions as complete sentences, use short keywords that identify what to exclude:
β Incorrect (Full Sentences) | β Correct (Simple Keywords) |
|---|---|
Do not include calendar links | calendar links |
Don't use emojis in messages | emojis |
Don't mention competitor names | competitor names |
Do not include booking links in first message | booking link in first message |
Please avoid using corporate jargon | corporate jargon |
Don't add pricing information | pricing |
The simpler the term, the better. "emojis" works better than "emoji characters" or "smiley faces."
After Updating Your DON'T Rules
Changing your Writing Style doesn't automatically update messages for prospects already in live campaigns. You need to regenerate those messages:
Save your updated Writing Style in Studio
Go to your campaign's Training Center
Select any prospect and type "Regenerate with new rules"
Valley will regenerate all messages using your updated DON'T list
See Editing Studio While Campaigns Are Live for the full regeneration workflow.
New prospects added after you save the updated Writing Style will automatically use the new rules. Only existing prospects need regeneration.
Still Having Issues?
If the AI continues to ignore your DON'T rules after simplifying the formatting and regenerating:
Check for conflicting DO rules that might override your DON'Ts
Make sure your sequence templates don't include the prohibited content as hardcoded text
Review Advanced Questions responses - sometimes narrative answers can introduce unwanted patterns
When in doubt, fewer words in your DON'T rules work better than more.
