Re-Engagement Sequences
What Re-Engagement Is
Re-engagement is specifically for one scenario: you send outreach, the prospect replies, Valley sends a follow-up response, and then the prospect ghosts you. They showed interest but went silent.
Re-engagement is NOT a general follow-up sequence for cold prospects. It's for reviving conversations that went dark.
How It Works
Valley sends your initial outreach message
Prospect replies (showing some level of interest)
Valley sends a follow-up response
Prospect goes silent - no reply
Valley's AI reads the full conversation thread and sends a re-engagement message to bring them back
If they still don't reply, Valley sends one more re-engagement
Valley defaults to two re-engagement messages sent 3 days apart. You can adjust this cadence during campaign setup.
Setting Up Re-Engagement
Re-engagement is configured during campaign creation:
During campaign setup, find the sequence creator
Toggle on re-engagement above the sequence creator
Set your re-engagement cadence (default: 2 messages, 3 days apart)
Launch the campaign
Valley's AI reads the full conversation history before writing the re-engagement message. It doesn't send a generic "bumping this" - it writes something contextual based on what was discussed.
Important: How Timing Works with Connection Requests
If your campaign sends a connection request with a follow-up set to send 3 days later, the follow-up only sends 3 days after the connection is accepted - not 3 days after the request was sent.
This means if someone doesn't accept your connection for 4 months, the follow-up sends 3 days after they finally accept. On LinkedIn, it'll show the connection request from 4 months ago and then the follow-up appearing 4 months + 3 days later. This can look odd to the prospect, but it's how LinkedIn's messaging timeline works.
[WARNING] This is a common point of confusion. The follow-up cadence is relative to acceptance, not to when the request was sent. If a prospect accepts months later, the follow-up will still fire on schedule from the acceptance date.
When Re-Engagement Stops
Re-engagement automatically stops when:
The prospect replies to a re-engagement message
All re-engagement messages in the sequence have been sent
You manually stop outreach to that prospect
Tips
Keep re-engagement messages short and low-pressure. The prospect already showed interest once - you're just giving them a gentle nudge, not starting the pitch over.
Each re-engagement message should take a slightly different angle. Valley handles this by default, varying the approach between messages rather than sending repetitive "just following up" notes.
