Troubleshooting Common Issues
Solutions for the most common Valley problems. Most issues resolve in minutes.
Issue #1: Messages Not Sending
Your campaign is running, but messages aren't going out.
Checklist
Is Autopilot turned on? Go to your campaign, check the Autopilot toggle at the top. If it's OFF, turn it ON.
Did you click Launch? Campaigns sit in Training Mode until you explicitly click the Launch button. Check if your campaign shows "Training Mode" - if so, click Launch.
Is LinkedIn still connected? Check your dashboard for a red disconnection warning. If disconnected, see the LinkedIn Disconnection guide.
Are you within your daily limits? Check your campaign's Activity tab. If you've hit today's limit (e.g., 25 connection requests sent today), Valley won't send more until tomorrow.
Is your sending window active? Valley only sends during the hours you set during campaign creation. If it's outside your window (e.g., you set 9am-5pm and it's 8pm), messages won't go out until the window opens.
Do you have prospects in the queue? Go to Prospects tab and filter by "Ready to Send." If there are zero prospects ready, Valley has nothing to send.
The most common causes: Autopilot is OFF, or the campaign is still in Training Mode (Launch button never clicked). Check those two first.
Issue #2: Low Reply Rates
If your reply rates are below 10%, something needs adjusting. Healthy benchmarks are 15-30% for warm lists and 5-15% for cold/imported lists. If you're consistently seeing 10%+ reply rates, you're in good shape. Here's how to improve if you're not:
Step 1: Check Your ICP
Too broad of an ICP means you're reaching the wrong people.
Could 80% of the people you're targeting actually use your product? If not, narrow down. "VP of Sales" + "Fortune 500" gives you 10,000 people - too many. Try "VP of Sales" + "SaaS" + "50-200 employees."
Reduce your prospect pool and get more specific on industry, company size, and seniority. Reply rates almost always improve with narrower ICPs.
Step 2: Check Your Product Definition in Studio
Valley's AI writes better messages when it has specific, concrete information about what you're selling.
Go to Studio > Products and review your product. Is your description vague? "Sales software" gives Valley nothing to work with. "We reduce sales cycle by 40% through AI-assisted LinkedIn prospecting for SaaS companies with under $100M ARR" gives Valley specific proof points and a clear value prop to weave into messages.
Make sure you have specific value props, real pain points, and concrete proof points filled in.
Step 3: Use Warm Lists, Not Just Cold Lists
Warm lists consistently outperform cold lists. Profile viewers are 18x more likely to respond than cold prospects.
If you're only running imported list campaigns, enable your warm signal sources: Profile Viewers, Profile Followers, and Post Engagers. Create campaigns from these warm lists for significantly higher reply rates.
Step 4: Check Your Writing Style
Go to Studio > Writing Style and review your settings. Does the output sound like you? Check your DOs and DON'Ts. Make sure "Include research details for context" is enabled on your research agents - this alone dramatically improves personalization quality.
If messages feel generic, add more specific DOs (e.g., "DO reference their recent LinkedIn posts") and DON'Ts (e.g., "DON'T use corporate jargon like 'synergy' or 'leverage'").
Test changes one at a time. Adjust ICP for one campaign, run it for a few days, then measure. Change your product definition for another. This way you know what actually moved the needle.
Issue #3: Campaign Stuck in Training Mode
Your campaign has been in Training Mode and hasn't started sending.
You need to click the "Launch" button. Valley needs explicit permission to start sending. Campaigns will sit in Training Mode forever until you click Launch.
Messages will start sending within 24 hours of launching.
Issue #4: Wrong Name in Messages
Prospects are receiving messages with your name instead of the account owner's name.
Root Cause
You created the campaign without entering the correct account through Admin View first. Valley uses the profile info of whichever account you're viewing when you create the campaign.
Fix
Delete the campaign with the wrong sender name.
Go to Admin View. Click your profile icon, then Admin View.
Find the correct account. Search for the account owner's name or email.
Click "Enter Account." This switches your view to that user's account.
Now create the campaign. Valley will use the correct account owner's name and profile.
Always enter the specific account through Admin View before creating campaigns for that account. This is the single most common mistake agencies make.
Issue #5: Lost Edits in Studio
You edited something in Studio, closed the tab, and your changes are gone.
Studio does NOT auto-save. You must click the "Save" button before closing or navigating away.
After making any edits in Studio - product definition, writing style, ICP - look for the Save button and click it. Wait for confirmation before closing the tab.
Issue #6: Prospects Not Importing from Sales Navigator
You're trying to import a list from Sales Navigator, but it's not working.
Check 1: Use a Search URL, Not a Saved List
Valley works best with Sales Navigator search URLs, not saved lists. Saved lists can cause import issues.
If you have a saved list, unsave it and use the search URL instead. The URL should look like: https://www.linkedin.com/sales/search/people?viewAllFilters=true&...
Check 2: Paste the Full URL
Some browsers truncate long URLs. Make sure you're pasting the complete URL including all query parameters. Use Ctrl+V or Cmd+V to paste - don't manually type it.
Check 3: Check Your List Size
Valley's maximum upload limit is roughly 3,000 prospects per import. If your Sales Navigator search returns more than that, narrow your filters (add industry, company size, location, etc.) to bring the result count under 3,000.
Check 4: Make Sure Filters Are Applied
If your search has no filters, it'll try to import millions of LinkedIn users. Apply at least 2-3 filters (title, company size, location) to get a manageable, targeted list.
Issue #6: Replies Not Showing In Inbox
Valley fetches responses from LinkedIn every 2 hours. Replies won't appear instantly. If you're already connected with a prospect, webhooks may catch replies between fetch windows. If a reply still hasn't appeared after 2+ hours, try refreshing your browser and checking that your LinkedIn connection is stable.
