Use a template with a play-based campaign
A play-based campaign can run on one of your sequence templates: the play finds the people, and the template writes the messages. Re-engagement and InMail-only campaigns do not support this workflow. If you have not launched the play yet, see Launch a play.
Before you start
Create the sequence template first, because you select it during campaign setup. Templates are created and managed in the Templates area (Create and manage templates in Valley). For guidance on writing a template structure Valley can personalize, see Templates with AI Personalization.
Select a template in the campaign wizard
You choose the template while creating the campaign. The full campaign setup, from picking a source to launch, is covered in How to Create a Campaign.
Start a campaign from a play and choose a supported play-based source in the campaign wizard.
On the messaging step, select Templated messages.
Choose a compatible sequence template.
Templates with only one message show as unavailable on play sources, together with an explanation of why. Read that explanation before picking a different template.
What happens to the template's connection note
Your template's connection note is kept through campaign setup. Valley sends the note with the connection request instead of sending a blank connection request, so the first touch carries your wording.
Autopilot and the tone check
Approvals you make on a templated play campaign count toward the campaign's tone check, so autopilot can resume once enough messages are approved. How autopilot works is covered in Enabling Autopilot.
