Fixing LinkedIn Disconnection Issues
LinkedIn disconnections are the #1 support issue. Here's how to diagnose and fix them in minutes.
Why Disconnections Happen
Valley connects to LinkedIn through a Chrome extension that reads your LinkedIn session token. Disconnections happen when that session token becomes invalid or the extension loses its connection. Common causes:
Your LinkedIn session expired (LinkedIn periodically refreshes sessions)
You used the same Chrome profile for multiple LinkedIn accounts
You changed your LinkedIn password while connected to Valley
LinkedIn triggered a two-factor authentication challenge
A Chrome or extension update interrupted the connection
How to Fix It
Valley gives you three options in the Chrome extension, from lightest to heaviest. Try them in this order:
Option 1: Refresh Connection (Try This First)
Refreshing re-establishes your LinkedIn credentials and fixes minor instability.
Make sure you're logged into the correct LinkedIn account in this Chrome profile
Click the Valley Chrome extension (puzzle piece icon in your toolbar)
Click "Refresh Extension"
Wait a minute, then check your Valley dashboard
This fixes most disconnections in under a minute.
Option 2: Reset Connection
If refreshing doesn't work, resetting deletes your LinkedIn token and reconnects from scratch. Note: all campaigns will pause during the reset.
Click the Valley Chrome extension
Click "Reset Extension"
Valley will delete the existing token and prompt you to reconnect
Click "Connect LinkedIn" and wait a few minutes
Refresh your Valley dashboard to confirm the connection
Resetting pauses all campaigns. They'll resume once the connection is re-established, but expect sending to restart within 24 hours of reconnecting.
Option 3: Uninstall & Reinstall the Extension
If both refresh and reset fail, do a clean reinstall.
Go to chrome://extensions/ in your browser
Find the Valley extension and click "Remove"
Confirm removal
Return to your Valley dashboard
You'll see a prompt to install the extension - click it
Add the extension from the Chrome Web Store
Click "Connect LinkedIn" in the extension
Wait a few minutes, then refresh your dashboard
Reinstalling clears any corrupted extension data. This fixes the vast majority of persistent disconnection issues.
Prevention
Do These
Use a dedicated Chrome profile for each LinkedIn account
Keep your LinkedIn password stable - don't change it while campaigns are running
Keep the Valley extension updated (Chrome does this automatically)
Don't Do These
Change your LinkedIn password mid-campaign
Use the same Chrome profile for multiple LinkedIn accounts
Run other LinkedIn automation tools (Expandi, Dripify, HeyReach, PhantomBuster, etc.) alongside Valley
Running Valley alongside other LinkedIn automation tools will cause conflicts, disconnections, and account flags. Valley uses a session token approach through the Chrome extension - this is why there have been zero LinkedIn suspensions since October 2023. Other tools using proxies, VPNs, or IP routing are far more likely to trigger restrictions. Use Valley only.
Still Having Issues?
If you've tried all three options and are still disconnected:
Email [email protected]
Include your Valley account email, a screenshot of the error, and which steps you already tried
Response is typically within a couple hours during business hours
